Speedy Chef in Elkin

Really good deserts, Ice cream is a must have from here, Good food also! Its a good place for the whole family. A place that Granny and Grandpa would probably love.

We enjoyed our fried flounder meal, which is always good. Speedy Chef has an extensive menu, so there's something for everybody. The dining room is not open yet. They are currently take-out only due to the Covid-19 restrictions, (June 2020.) We ate on a sweet table outside.

Food was great--hot and fresh! Service was great too. I wish they still had arcades working. My son was looking forward to playing some games but only thing working was toy vending machines. Same great food though-love the chef burger-a classic!! 🍔

FRIENDLY AND CLEAN....FOOD IS VERY GOOD...BUT I LOVE THEIR PORK CHOPS R OUT OF THIS WORLD....YUMMY TO MY TUMMY...Little John is sooo friendly and such a delight to b around..He is good to everyone...

Food was good just could have gave me hot tots my was cold and the cheese wasn't melted

Went for dine out night for yhe PTA. We had a blast and the beef tips were amazing.

Ordered chef burger combo. Burger was delicious. Had toasted bun, homemade slaw and chili. Fries were hot and fresh. Service was fast and staff was courteous. Have eaten at Speedy Chef quite a few times when in the area.

Great food, large portions, reasonable prices, friendly staff and super clean dining room. The burger is great and they have those crinkle fries. Can't go wrong. I stop everytime I'm in Elkin.

Great service and good food

I’m 39 and I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember. My grandparents have lived in Elkin for their whole lives, and it was always a place we must stop to eat every visit.Tonight was absolutely ridiculous. There were 3 orders on the counter waiting for drinks and fries. 2 people were making lemonade- one person was talking with a gentleman in a green vest that was behind the counter but obviously was not on duty - but he had no problem distracting everyone who should have been working. One other person was taking phone orders and trying to take care of people walking up to the counter (she was super friendly and helpful). In all the years I’ve been going here, tonight took the cake in regards to front staff goofing around.

The oyster, catfish and flounder plates are amazing! Good food. Decent prices and great service.

Speedy Chef has been a great place to eat for over 50 years. How do you top that? Get you some!

We eat there quite often, the food is always good and fresh made to order. I would highly recommend that if you haven't tried it, you should.

Bacon must have been left over from breakfast!!!! I got a BLT.

They were busy as usual. I just got a cone of vanilla soft serve ice cream. My husband got the Banana boat. He loves them here. He gets the wet walnuts on it. It's so good.

Best hot dogs around!

Good place! Staff was very friendly, food was hot and the place was very clean. Milkshakes we're good too.

Great burgers and hot dogs! Awesome BBQ sandwich. They have any dessert that anyone could want too. Try the banana pudding. You may have a bit of a wait at times, but the food is well worth it.

Best little Restaurant around. Very nice place to go. Friendly staff and atmosphere.

Amazing pork chop sandwich.

Large menu including cafeteria style plates, homemade cakes and pies, hand dipped ice cream and they make their own sugar/waffle cones! Great food. Large seating areas. Friendly staff.

My family is from Elkin and I make it my business to always eat here everytime I come home to visit!

This used to be my favorite spot if I was in/around Elkin, since I was a kid 40 some years ago up until tonight. The burgers used to hang off the buns they were so big, now they don't even cover the bread. We ordered "cheesy tots" and they just melted shredded cheese over tater tots. The kids got tokens for a free ice cream, that tasted like it was freezer burnt and didn't taste anything like chocolate. Just super dissapointed. I hate to be "that guy" that complains and gripes, but I doubt we'll be going back any time soon.

Been going her for 25 years. Food is pretty good. You better watch your order, 1/3 of the time they get it wrong and you have to send it back

Great food nice people .

We decided to try Speedy Chef thanks to all the rave reviews it tends to receive! We had a small wait considering how busy they were, but ended up getting our food within fifteen minutes of placing our order. To be honest, the food was not that great! It was average at best. The chicken had an overpowering seasoning that made it unpalatable. They also had no sour cream for the baked potato. It was a rather disappointing meal!

Food is very good, the seating could be a little better though. I suggest their Footlong Hotdog with mustard, onions, and chili. Very good food and highly suggested overall.

Food decent long wait time and ceiling tiles need replacing.

Ordered chocolate nut sundaes to go and they melted before we got home because they didn't have proper containers. If they didn't have the correct containers they shouldn't have sold them... to go.

They were really friendly, as friendly as they could be. I saw a bunch of young girls and thought I wouldnt get good service. But they were great. Even gave me a refill. Thanks Guys !
